Love. It. I got the seven-vegetable soup, the wild salmon salad and an order of pita chips with spinach hummus. Lots o' veggies in this meal. I think I liked the soup the best because it was hearty while also being healthy. The vegetables were clearly very fresh and the seasoning was quite good. I appreciate that the staff here is very friendly and accommodating, helping me order exactly what I wanted. I'd give it more stars (and visit more often) if only it was so expensive. $12 for lunch is a bit steep, but I'm happy to pay an upcharge for food I feel good about eating.

I am all about the healthier 'fast food' options. Actually, I don't eat any fast food, so this is a cool little concept to me. Bowls, wraps, salads, soups. Yes, please. I love that they have the green wrap. For those of us who do not want to consume 200 calories just in a burrito wrap, great alternative. I had this and was pleasantly surprised. It did not at all taste like a large green leaf!!! They had steamed it perfectly and it was rather nondescript. Would totally do this again. As a matter of fact, I just purchased their YELP deal $10 for $5. Oh yums. I had the tuna garden wrap and really enjoyed it. The crunchy freshness of all the veggies. LOW CARB LOVE. the feta cheese and the cucumber dill dress were just the right amount for a good blend and not so dry wrap. I also purchased a bag of my favorite new snack food here, SKINNY CRISPS - Brownie flavor. Again low carb, good quality ingredients. Was pleased to find I could purchase here (I buy mine online). The staff was friendly and the place was spotless. Can't wait to go back with my coupon!

I love this place! I am so thrilled to have a super healthy fast food restaurant close by. Everything is so healthy and fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is ultra modern - white, stainless, clean. I haven't been going as often since going Primal but if I have to eat out I will gladly go here as they will make pretty much anything I want. I have received many free meals here using the punch card. Awesome!

I have been here twice. I was so excited for a healthy alternative near my work. Very disappointing. The kitchen is always messy. I wanted a fresh pressed juice but worried about cross contamination. I inquired both visits if the chicken was free-range or antibiotic free. On both occasions the employees looked at me as if they had never heard of free-range chicken. Just utterly confused. Honestly, no one seemed happy to work there. Ordered the Buddha Bowl. It was not good. The ginger in the sauce was the only thing I could taste. In short, employees are miserable, food is bad and the kitchen is filthy. Super disappointing.

This place is pretty good for a fast food place. I like it because they have vegan and gluten free options for me. The only thing I do not like is the fact that there menu is different than what is online. The menu online sounds awesome and the menu in the location is pretty good. I wish it had some of the options online at the store. Overall the food is better than most fast food places but its not amazing. I have been there 3 or 4 times and I plan to continue to go there and try more things. I really like the collard greens wraps, those are super good and honestly I wish other places would do this. I recommend this place for a fast healthy lunch.

A solid 3.5, the food is good, but I don't feel the service justified 4 stars. Was looking for a "healthy" place for lunch and stopped by with a coworker/fellow yelper. Wasn't really sure how things worked, but it didn't take long to figure things out. When you first walk in to the right there are mini clipboards with order sheets if you want to create your own concoction. Otherwise they have a big menu on the wall and you can choose from their creations. I opted for the Pangoa Bowl ($7.49) with chicken ($1.99), but the Yelp deal meant $2 off! If you get something with meat, it's a little pricier than your typical fast food meal, but the bowl was big enough to spread over two meals (my friend's sushirrito, however, was not as that thing was pretty small). Even though the line was short, it took a very long time to get orders in, and a little while longer for the food to come out. I can't imagine what it would be like during a normal lunch rush. We ended up taking the lunch to go. The food itself was pretty good though, the Pangoa bowl had a pretty good kick from the BBQ sauce. I'd definitely go back to try some of the other options!

Don't really like this place. The food is just ok. But the customer service is so weird. I've ordered online three times and everytime I've gone in to pick up my order I'm treated like an outcast. I walked in today and for some reason the customers in front of me were discussing my order and my name. What a weird situation. Everyone seemed so confused by the whole process. I won't be returning. STEAK WAS TERRIBLE!!!!

  • Shin M.

I got a Teriyaki bowl with steak and avocado for take out. They put the teriyaki sauce in a container on the side so I poured it into the super plain brown rice w/ weird veggies and my extra requests. I thought it tasted terrible. I'm having a hard time describing why- the teriyaki sauce was so thick and overpowering and the rice and toppings were so plain- somehow, the two just did not go well together. Today I got so busy at work that I skipped lunch, so when it came time for dinner, I was ready to devour anything. However, I could only get through a few bites before I decided I'd rather starve... which is what I did.

I've been meaning to go here for a while. And I wasn't disappointed. I chose the "warrior bowl" with tofu. It had great flavor, though the rice was a little bland. I would've liked a few more tofu pieces, but whatever. It was good and it was healthy. I also had blueberry tea which was nice. I'll probably branch out next time I go. Another note, they have $2 off an entree via the yelp app. I forgot to use it..but next time.

I have to give credit where credit is due....and when an owner of a store reaches out to me to remedy an issue, I appreciate it. Such as what happened with Jamie *the owner of this Freshii*...she offered me a free bowl at Yorktown or Oak Brook (she owns both) so I obliged. I actually went to the Yorktown location and it was great, fast, and the workers were very friendly and accommodating. I am confident Jamie has also made these changes to the Oak Brook store and will continue to strive as a great female business owner in the area :) Kudos!

We enjoyed a 5-star make-your-own grilled burrito and chicken teriyaki bowl at Freshii today! Did you notice that there are free pitas in white envelopes on the counter where you get your napkins and silverware? Bonus!! The frozen yogurt is amazing! Kind of tart and sweet, but not sugary at all. Delicious! Great customer service again.

I had never heard of this company before attending a networking event this evening. Freshii of Oak Brook brought platters of their wraps and I became a fan. They brought three varieties: Vegan Wrap, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and Chicken Club Wrap. The Buffalo Chicken wrap was moist and very flavorful though a little hotter than I like, but I am a heat-spice wimp! I'd rate the heat at a medium, which is more than I'd prefer. This was tasty but a little uncomfortable for me. The Vegan Wrap is quite good with fresh-tasting ingredients and nice color variation for presentation. Opposite the Buffalo, this Vegan Wrap is very mild. If I had access to the Balsamic vinegar that is on the wrap, I'd add a little more to my serving. I love the variety of fresh veggies on this wrap. The Chicken Club Wrap is what it sounds like with the ingredients of a club sandwich in a wrap instead of bread. Tasty, moist, and nice presentation. The franchise co-owner said they just got their liquor license and will be serving organic beer & wine. They also have a juice bar. I look forward to dining in next time I'm in the Oak Brook area.

This place is alright; no different from any other Freshii in the Chicago MSA. CONS 1. New staff were all over the place; took 3 people to ring oatmeal. I asked for oatmeal. "Hey guys, do we serve oatmeal?" I asked for brown sugar. "Hey guys, do we have brown sugar?" 2. The person making the food apparently didn't know how to scoop oatmeal, so the cashier went and made it. Gloves yes, but no hand washing involved. BIG PROBLEM. Particularly when he dug his fingers in the toppings to scoop them, no spoon EW! 3. All of the food is sitting there exposed, no covers. Unsanitary considering all the particles, germs, and hair flying around back there. EW! 4. The design is ineffective. The oatmeal was on one side of the kitchen and mix-ins on the other. The guy had to put it in the cup, get around 4 other people to the toppings, back for more oatmeal, then walk back to put sugar on top. Way to complicated. PROS 1. The lady in charge (either manager or franchise owner) gave me a coupon for the wait. IMPORTANT I think there are two main problems the owner here should know. Freshii is a boutique (supposedly healthy) cafe. This means the average person is not likely to come here and the more elite who do come here, have no reason to frequent it. It's just an occasional I'm out having lunch stop in. One good thing is that it's in a very pretentious area, where a lot of people spend money. One really bad thing is most people in this little area are too old! Freshii is a yuppie brand in the loop. Baby boomers who are in this area don't know anything about it or have any real reason to find out as there are way to many restaurants on this strip near oakbrook mall already. Also, the prices are extremely inflated. This is the most expensive oatmeal in the area. More than 2x McDonalds whos oatmeal is extremely good, they are well-known, and open 24 hours. The few 20-30 somethings who choose to live in the burbs generally have no interest in boutique places. Because they either have kids, are on a budget, or simply don't care about staus or we would be living in the city. Take the new Chick - Fil - A here. It's packed because it caters to many age groups and its affordable for the average person. Work around the sanitation issues and it will be fine. The lady in charge is nice and that's always an excellent resource. Good luck!!!!

I have a new love and it is Freshii!! Being a vegan in the burbs can be a drag, especially around lunch time, but Freshii celebrates vegans!! Their ingredients are super fresh and really reasonably priced. There are tons of vegan options (and others for you omnis out there), bowl, soup, salad, wrap, etc. It took me a few minutes to decide what I wanted. I created a wrap and since I bought the groupon ($5 for $10), I got a lot of extra $ ingredients. I ended up paying $5.26 for my wrap, but would have gladly paid the $11 it came out to. They sell other food items there, too like chips (all kinds) and healthy snacks, etc. I think I'm going to try a salad next time with lots of fruits and nuts. Side note - It's in the Oak Brook Promenade for those of you coming from the west (the sign is on the east side of the promenade). The service was great and the staff was friendly. I am definitely going back!!

I'm so glad Freshii came to the suburbs. Although it was literally dead in there, I loved the atmosphere. When you first walk in, you decide whether to create your own salad, wrap, burrito, or bowl. I opted for the menu option and went with the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl! I was not disappointed; the portions were HUGE! I was able to take half home and eat some the next day. The chicken was good and they didn't skimp you on the ingredients. You can opt for quinoa for half the calories, which I might do the next time. The staff was very personable and the cashier made sure we understood what we were doing! Can't wait to go back and try more items off the menu.

Healthy fast food? Sounds like an oxymoron to me. I drove past it not too long ago and made a mental note to come back some other day to see what it's all about. I finally got around to doing that today. I've been on a bit of a health kick as of late so I've been looking for meal options in my area and I thought a healthy fast food restaurant was a promising idea. Oak Brook is an upscale area and the The Oak Brook Promenade is one of the more pretentious looking shopping areas of the town. That being said, I walked in with some idea of how much I would be paying without knowing anything about their menu or pricing. I do have to agree with Sherill's review and say that I felt that this restaurant was out of place. I think it may have been better if it were in a slightly closer proximity to say, College of Dupage. Then again, college students on a tight budget might not see the appeal. Regardless, the crowd was very small when I went in today and I didn't see many young people. The interior decor was hip and modern... which made it kind of funny to see a cute little grandma enjoying lunch by herself in such a restaurant. They have a pretty wide range of options and you can also opt to create your own bowl/burrito/wrap/etc. I had the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl to go and it was pretty good. Huge portion size too. I had to give half of it to my mom. I paid $7 for it, which I was prepared to do. Had I tacked on a drink it probably would have been closer to $10. The wait wasn't long at all. I got my food in a bag along with utensils and napkins in under 5 minutes. They had a rerun of last night's Presidential Debates on CNN on the flat screen to keep me entertained.... That and it was interesting to watch the people in the kitchen make the food & etc. As a college student on a tight budget, I don't see myself frequenting this place often. But I would drop by from time to time if my wallet allowed it. I want to give their noodles and FroYo a go.

Tea was great, they have a few different flavors. The asian bowls weren't that great, luke warm and nothing special about them, I'd just assume get chinese/thai take out for those. Menu is not very exciting, I expected more, interesting, vegan/vegetarian items. A small drink for $2.49 seems a bit over priced.

Freshii has some great healthy options, with quality fresh ingredients. Good salads, soups, burrios, wraps etc. The frozen yogurt is my favorite- although i would suggest selling the yogurt by weight, not cup. (like many frozen yogurt places do.) I saw the owner at freshii hire a geese chasing company to get rid of the goose eggs that were nested by their door. Its surprising to see such a healthy, pro-choice business causing animal chaos during business hours. I loved going to freshii until i saw them chasing geese away, and getting rid of the eggs.

I love the buffalo chicken wrap. This place is always clean and has an attentive staff. I eat here 3-4 times per week.

Vegetarian lunch choices around here (burbs / Oak Brookish) can be made pretty quickly--you just pick one of the two or three veggie dishes from among the sea of meatitarian options they offer and the hunger thing has been efficiently taken care of for that day. At Freshii, it's a far more complicated--yet more rewarding--endeavor. Although there's that risk of hearing shuffling feet and faux throat-clearing from the impatient people behind you that guiltily urge you along while you mentally combine ingredients and textures into various taste-matrices. Pro-tip: their menu and ingredients are online. Hmm... wrap or bowl? Brown rice or quinoa? Beets or edamame? There are quite a few vegetarian items on the menu, but you can customize any of them, or do something totally custom from their huge selection of fresh ingredients. Everything is made to order so there is a short wait, but it's worth it. I've seen one of these stores in the loop a while ago and was intrigued at the concept, but wasn't hungry at the time. The boy and I decided on lunch from here before going for a hike with the dog over at Danada (awesome outdoorsy spot in the burbs, btw). We ate on the little bench out in front, and the husband of the owner was nice enough to bring out some plates for us. I ordered the Green Wrap which had tofu, rice noodles, cilantro, carrots, and cucumber and came with a spicy peanut sauce that was sufficiently spicy for me. The whole business was wrapped in steamed collard green leaves--which is such a great idea--it's more fibrous than lettuce and holds together better. And, well, it's low-calorie / gluten free / antioxidant-rich / [other cool adjective] option. Did I mention the tasty part? The boy had the Bangkok Wrap--tofu subbed for chicken--and it was flavorful and light, with a chewy whole-wheat tortilla. It was fine, but I have to say that mine was straight up nom-tastic. Freshii is a franchise, but I'm actually happy about that--the US needs more healthy fast food options. Even if you're craving meat out of habit for lunch, check this place out and ask for a recommendation based on what you normally order as an interesting alternative. The dining room is nice, spacious and trendy-like with all the green and the modern typeface action. Hooray.

I thought the servers and cashier could have been a lot more customer service oriented and friendlier. They just looked like they hated their jobs thus the 3 star rating for customer service. I got the signature salad and a small frozen yogurt and a mango passion fruit froyo smoothie. The avocado on the signature salad was very fresh! The salmon was just ok, nothing spectacular. The kale and other toppings were good and fresh. The smoothie was very sweet and tarty so I wasn't a huge fan. They are very generous with the small frozen yogurt! I just wish they were generous on the toppings since the froyo was very tarty. Overall id come back for a health kick but probably not to this particular location due to the workers there.

I like Freshii as a healthier fast food alternative. I have tried many of their bowls (warrior, teriyaki, pangoa) and each of them have been very satisfying and tasty. I like that they have sprouted quinoa as a substitute for brown rice as well for extra protein... The bowls are pretty generously sized and I usually split up the meal in two. The only disappointing thing I've had is their juices... It's actually worse than a home made juicer juice... There is never really a consistency and the flavors are always off. The also have a smartphone app where you can accumulate points (similar to Starbucks rewards) to earn free meals. This is probably a 3.5 star place, but I'm pushing it to a 4 because: 1) I like the concept; 2) the seating is bright and comfortable; and 3) they are open pretty late, so I can eat healthy even late!

  • Jenn C.

Well, it is definitely pretty fresh regarding the ingredients and the concept is great for those with allergies, or watching your weight or just trying to be healthier. I like the fact that you can find yelp deals when checking in and at times groupons as well. I don't think I could eat here often but I would definitely come when I want to stay on the healthier side. Wraps, salads all seem pretty decent. However, I'm not a fan of the soups. Flavoring in the broths are all pretty mediocre for my taste. However, great quick healthy option for lunch.

this place is like a healthy version of chipotle. they offer substitutions for an additional charge (swap out rice for quinoa). good quality, decent prices.

  • Liz K.

Great concept. This location is huge. I was a bit overwhelmed because there was a lot to choose from. I ordered a fiesta salad and it was very good and large...I ate half for lunch and half later in the day. I also had their lemongrass soup because I heard great things about it..but it wasn't what I expected. I was surprised how expensive their soups are...but if you ask there is a smaller portion that they did not have on the menu. :-)

A friend suggested Freshii for a quick lunch one day and I was instantly impressed upon walking in. The look of the place is a perfect representation - clean, fresh, and modern. I was a bit overwhelmed at my ordering options - do I choose a little clipboard or just order off the menu? What was the difference? It took me a few minutes to read everything and then decide on my strategy. I also enjoyed marveling at the trail mix bar, the healthy chip options, and drink choices. I eventually settled on an asian-inspired burrito, and it was delicious. Got to the table quick and piping hot, and was big and filling, full of fresh and healthy ingredients. It's nice to have such fresh healthy options available at a decent price, and quick speed. I hope they open a Freshii closer to where I live in the NW burbs!

I am doing a detox where it required very specific diet of fruits, veggies, and whole grains. I found this place near where I was shopping and decided to stop by. It was very clean and fresh looking when you first walk in, which is awesome. The food was what I expected. Fresh and healthy. I got a quinoa bowl with a myriad of veggies, and it was a HUGE amount. I was SO full and I only finished 3/4 of the bowl. It is expensive, but if you check in through yelp, you do get $2 off right now! I made my own bowl today, but I may go back to try some of the wraps!

I work nearby and was excited to have a new & healthy lunch option in the area. I REALLY want to like Freshii, but of the 6 or 7 times I have been there so far - it seems something is wrong each time. Ordered a fiesta breakfast burrito with egg, they gave me the lunch version with chicken (at 8AM). I went back to exchange for the breakfast burrito and while eating it, realized they left all of the long stems/stalks from the cilantro in the burrito. I was completely taken aback. In what food setting is that acceptable? Went back another time and ordered a chicken wrap which I asked that they warm like a burrito - they did not. It was written on the food ticket taped to the wrap - I guess they just missed it. Went back again today for a salad - there were actually pieces of avocado skin in the salad. That is SO unsanitary I can't even believe it. I'm 100% positive they don't wash the outside of the avocados before they use them. Sorry Freshii, but I won't be back.

Saw this place featured on a Food Network show, and I was excited to see there was one in the Chicago suburbs. Came here with a friend for lunch and was very surprised/excited from what I saw and what I ate. This place, however is not for the indecisive! They basically give you a set of pre-designed wraps, burritos, soups and salads, however you can add or subtract or completely change anything you want! If you don't want to start with something they have, you can go from scratch...so as indecisive as I am, my friend and I agreed that we wouldn't talk AT ALL until we figured out what we were going to eat! I had the cob wrap, changing a few things, including the dressing, and it was DELISH! The wrap was wrapped tightly so nothing fell out and the filling was perfectly mixed so that I got a little bit of everything in the bite! I'd compare this to a Subway/Chipotle type place but MUCH healthier! I appreciate that they tell you what the superfoods are and how they affect (or can affect) your body. I was full, but felt really good about it! This will definitely be a place to come back to....hopefully they open more franchises in the burbs!

I was really hesitant about coming in here because I am so far from being a health nut. I thought maybe they were only going to have salads and cold entrees. However, they do have noodle and rice dishes and burritos as well. I tried the chicken teriyaki bowl, which is made with brown rice and lots of veggies. To my surprise, it was very flavorful. Cost was reasonable ($6.59 for my chicken teriyaki bowl), but I also used a check-in deal to receive $2 off. Plus the portion was pretty big, so this will last me two meals. I love the decor of this place too. There is a green and white theme which makes the place feel really bright and open. There's a good mix of booths, regular tables, and high tables. I would definitely come here again!

Really nice staff, from their door greeter handing out sample smoothies to the staff behind the counter. Quick, tasty food and what's nice is that no matter where you are traveling as a Vegan in the US you know if there is a Freshii you will have something to eat. Loved that there were yelp deals to purchase for here.

Very surprised how my review has changed since my last experience at freshii. I ordered online, and then quickly canceled my order because of a timing issue. I called freshii asking of they could refund back to my card, and they said that they couldn't. Now, I work at a restaurant very similar to Freshii and we refund to cards on a daily basis. Now I get it, it might take 24-48 hours to be back on my card...but it shouldn't take 10 days like it has. I have spoken with the owner after the manager hasn't called me back and doesn't answer the phone 5 MINUTES before close...I know you're there and you should technically still be taking orders if I was calling about an order. That time I called, I left a voicemail and NOBODY called me back the next day...I had to call there myself and to my surprise, it was actually the manager! How lovely. After this experience I don't think I'll be returning to freshii even if I get my money back. I can drive an extra 2 miles to the protein bar that is 10x better than freshii. Thanks but no thanks

This place is not bad. I can't give it a higher mark bc what I ordered - I thought it was OK. It was a bbq wrapped in a green leaf. It was pretty decent. My friend got their cobb salad which she liked. I'd say, order what's popular, or go with what you know, if you're not sure of what to try. I was being a little adventurous - sometimes it pays off. I'm totally worth giving it another try because a) the ingredients are pretty fresh, b) portions are pretty big and c) they have yelp deals with discounts that make it worth the cost.

First visit after stumbling on to this place. Wanted to like this place but can't. Got the falafel bowl - falafel soggy and dish generally tasted like mush. Service without a smile! I'll try one more time and get something different.

Despite the reviews on this yelp page about this rastruant this is more Indian American So if you are use to spicy you need to telll them to spice it up First off I had the butter chicken which was really good but next I go I will tell them to spice it up I went with my friends and we had butter chicken and paneer makhani and 3 orders of garilic naan( which was amazing) all that for 40$ and I went at night

Do not get the "popular" salmon salad - the salmon was a strange color and texture - looked like worse than straight out of the freezer and tasted like canned tuna. The salad itself was not tasty at all even though I love spinach salads.

I am excited about this place. The food was good and my salad large enough I couldn't finish it. They did forget my chicken but was quickly rectified when I brought it to their attention. It isn't the cheapest fast food thought so if price is an issue don't come here. But I am already looking forward to going back and trying something different, maybe one of the menu items instead of the create your own.

I am OBSESSED with this place! The food is great and the staff is always so friendly. The owners are there all the time and are hands on-- talking to customers, taking orders, etc. I'm always on lo-carb programs and Freshii has lots of options that are healthy and delicious. It's great to have something that's good for you and doesn't taste like cardboard. I eat there ALL The time! My kids love it too.

I went to Freshii for lunch after driving past on my way to work that morning. They do serve breakfast, but had an early morning meeting and couldnt stop. After my lunch experience I will definitely be trying Freshii out for breakfast. I loved the atmosphere!! I loved the menu choices which included tons of options to chose from. I decided on the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and loved it! Fresh ingredients, flavorful and not that pricey. Im a fan!

I like the food and the concept. Which made me come here twice in one week after my first visit. The rice noodle bowls are great portions and pretty filling, BUT not in a heavy way. I like the flavors but I always request additional sauce. I wish there was one closer to me!

Love this place, healthy everything. Totally customizable. Juices, salads, veggies meats whatever you like, fun foods for kids. It's all good. Even the green wraps were cool- hard to chew off sometimes but definitely still good food. I never feel like I did my body wrong when I leave.

It's great having a healthy choice in a sea of fast food lunches! Love the mojito iced tea - really refreshing! Staff happy to change things up to my liking -- hold the celery and throw in another handful of blueberries into the antioxidant crunch salad. Little things that make for a good experience.
